In October 2024, Steven, Sarajane, and Alexander Bird announced the transfer of the business to Ian Miller of Model Railway Magic Ltd. The Bird family poured their hearts and souls into The Model Tree Shop, creating a vibrant business for professional model makers, architects, hobbyists and enthusiasts. As they embark on a new chapter, they are confident that Model Railway Magic Ltd will continue to provide exceptional service and support to the shop's loyal customers.

Model Railway Magic was founded early in 2020 lockdown by Ian Miller as a 'model recycling programme' buying and selling second hand model railway items. Model Railway Magic Ltd also owns and operates Train Trax UK, which was transferred in similar circumstances from it’s previous owner nearly three years ago. Since acquiring Train Trax UK it has evolved into a busy one-stop shop for all your KATO model railway needs. We are known for competitive prices, knowledgeable staff, and excellent customer service. We are delighted to be signed up to the Good Business Charter – an accreditation which recognises responsible business practices. We're also members of the FSB.
 
Ian is now assisted by two part-time employees, Keiren and Jonathan.
 
After a brief ‘transplanting’ to York, The Model Tree Shop has now re-opened ensuring a seamless transition for customers.
